Switching Halls
by the comet init's time for me and the mrs. to get the hell outta dodge.
recently my hall has undergone major management changes and the atmosphere is..less than ideal.
i'm getting multiple calls a week asking to set up a time to meet, i've politely declined but these guys aren't taking a hint.

When I switch, I went across the city to a different language. I introduced myself to the elders and told them how happy I was to be attending ":Their" KH. I told them that at this point I do travel quite a bit for work. (Which was a fake out) Made sure my Publisher cards were transferred, after about 5-6 weeks of attending only on Sundays, I stopped and never went back, changed my phone number and It's been almost 2 years. Make sure they transfer your cards or they can still get a hold of you. -

Sorry for your loss.
He was a good man. She was a good woman.
Are they truly never to be seen again?
You never know what can happen or is going to happen. I would say that what ever makes you feel comfortable is a go.

OMG, I’m gonna get Old and Die.
by John Aquila inwhen it finally clicked,.
and you realized there was no 1914, there was no generation that would see the end of a wicked system, there was no paradise around the corner, .
what went through you mind?.

Hey Pete Zahut
You basically described my feelings, with the exception that I did lose my wife and I also don't have a network of friends, but I would never go back to that hell. It's been almost two years since I've left but for some reason it seems like decades. I still can't figure that out. Maybe it's because I've done so much and learn so much.

Is this the fruit of evolution? Is this what lurkers should look forward to? Dark days in sad thought with no hope?
I see no benefit to atheism.
Actually atheism has nothing to do with
"Dark days in sad thought with no hope"
Over 40,000 people commit suicide each year in the U.S most of which are Christians and have a wonderful "Hope"
Sadness and despair is the result of "many" other reasons besides a belief in God or No belief in God. Most Atheist lead a very normal lives with a deep appreciation for everything they observe in life.
People here are upset not because they don't believe in God, but because they were lied to by Whom?
By people who believe in God and supposedly had a wonderful hope.

But losing my faith was hard. The Watchtower belief system is a way of explaining all the bad in the, world, a security blanket of hope that was suddenly gone. I felt a loss and it was hard realizing that there were just bad things in the world and no one was coming to fix it.
That is probably the hardest thing to lose. No one is flying down to rescue us. We have to make do with what we have. It's up to us.

Life is awesome though.....My only regret is all the amazing things I will never learn, all the discoveries that will happen after I am gone. We are living in the most wonderful time in all of human history.
I feel the same way, I have been learning so much this past year and have become aware of how so much more there is to learn. In about 150 years we have seen inside heating and cooling, telephones, flying the skies in huge airplanes, internet, organ transplants, anything the imagination can conjure up brought to life in movie theaters. I can only imagine what life will be like 200 years from now.

It's all so sad. ..... but why keep on living?
Because good surprises come when you least expect them.
The moments of happiness we enjoy take us by surprise. It is not that we seize them, but that they seize us.

I freaked out a bit when learning TTATT. It's been a couple of years, and I've gained some perspective.
Before calming down a bit, I would have panic attacks ( small ones ) where , "Omg!! I....AM....GOING....TO....DIE.." raced through my head. I would drink quite a bit, and lie in the fetal position, sometimes for hours.
Well its good to know I wasn't the only one going through that. Heck, i wasn't sure if I was finally losing it and I was about to change my residence.
